About Abortion At Risk

Abortion at Risk is a community-based project led by researchers working with the Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation and funded by the Society of Family Planning. This project explores the impact of Georgia’s abortion restrictions on real people living in the state.

The project illuminates how abortion bans prevent people from accessing the healthcare they need.

All stories on this website reflect aggregate research trends; specific details are presented with explicit consent of our participants.

Acknowledgements

We would like to express our deep gratitude for all who made this project possible.

We could not have done this without the bravery of our research participants, who took the time and energy to share their deeply personal stories with us. We would also like to thank members of our research team who worked on this project (Dr. Nisha Verma, Peggy Goedken, and Valentina Larrivey), our incredible partners at Feminist Center (A.C. Coquillas and M.K. Anderson), and our patient advisor, De’Asia Montgomery.

Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation is a Black-led reproductive health clinic and reproductive justice organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. Feminist Center provides reproductive health care including abortion care, and it engages in movement building with people across all axes of oppression so that Georgians have the rights, resources, and respect to make empowered, informed decisions about their own bodies and health.

In addition, we appreciate the funding from the Society of Family Planning and the efforts of our full research team that made this work possible.
